Job Description:
Performs highly responsible functions of a professional, administrative and technical nature. Work involves planning, organizing and directing the operations of the Gateway Airport; all other related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Management or related field and more than seven (7) years experience in airport operations; more than three (3) of which is in a management/supervisory capacity; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Capable of passing TSA security check as a prerequisite to working in highly sensitive areas. Valid Class D drivers license and MassDOT Aeronautics Airport Manager license required. Pilots license preferred.
Additional Qualifications:
Working knowledge of all federal, state, and local regulations governing airport operations. Knowledge of methods and techniques relating to Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting, airport operations and snow removal operations. Knowledge of aircraft servicing and aviation radio procedures. Business and supervisory practices. Working knowledge of ARFF vehicles. Familiarity with leases and contract documents.
Proven ability to supervise, manage, organize and plan for an airport comprised of a sizeable number of employees who provide services, maintain and repair a wide range of airport municipal buildings, grounds, runways, taxiways, aprons and access roadways. Ability to develop and efficiently manage large operating budgets. Ability to teach adults. Ability to prepare reports. Ability to supervise and coordinate airfield operations which requires considerable team effort. Ability to negotiate leases and other contracts. Ability to exercise good judgment in adverse situations. Strong ability to evaluate, prioritize, and schedule heavy workloads. Strong ability to deal effectively with the public and federal, state and local officials and agencies.
Proficiency in the use of computers including word processing, spreadsheets and database. Strong communication and public speaking skills.
$126,005.54 to $150,588.28 annually commensurate with experience.
