We are looking for a bi-lingual spanish, detail-oriented Human Resources (HR) Assistant to join our team in Stockton, California. This Contract-to-ongoing position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to HR operations, including recruitment, payroll, and employee record management. The ideal candidate will bring professionalism, strong organizational skills, and a passion for supporting employees and HR processes.
Responsibilities:
- Respond to both internal and external HR inquiries, providing timely and accurate information.
- Facilitate new employee orientations and assist in onboarding processes.
- Maintain and update electronic employee records, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Support recruitment efforts by sourcing candidates, conducting reference checks, and preparing employment contracts.
- Manage schedules and calendars for HR team members, including coordinating meetings and interviews.
- Assist in performance management activities and help organize training sessions.
- Prepare and submit reports on HR metrics and general activities.
- Handle payroll-related tasks such as processing, troubleshooting errors, and distributing paychecks.
- Coordinate termination procedures and ensure all necessary documentation is completed.
- Perform additional administrative duties as assigned to support the HR department.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an HR assistant.
- Familiarity with labor laws and employment equity standards.
- Proficiency in HR functions, payroll practices, and best practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Experience with HRMS systems, such as ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of auditing, background checks, and benefits administration.
